What is this?

End-to-end tests drive a real browser — click buttons, fill forms, assert the UI — with Playwright or Cypress.

Why should you care?

Catches integration bugs unit tests miss.

See it live — copy this example

Paste into an HTML file or the browser console (F12). Use Run below when the live editor is available.

// Playwright sketch
// await page.goto("http://localhost:5173");
// await page.click("text=Login");
// await expect(page.locator("h1")).toContainText("Dashboard");

Run Example »

Edit the code below and click Run to see the result in Toolliyo’s live editor.

What happened?

  • E2E is slower but realistic.
  • Run in CI before deploy.

Practice next

  1. Sketch Playwright goto and click flow.
  2. Assert h1 contains Dashboard.
  3. Run E2E against dev server in CI.
  4. Add test that logs in and places order end-to-end.
  5. Use page.waitForResponse to assert API completed before UI check.

Remember

Real browser automation Critical user flows Slower than unit tests

ScriptVerse release gate

Playwright smoke test login → dashboard → logout runs before production deploy approval.

Outcome: E2E verifies ScriptVerse flows that unit tests cannot cover alone.
