What happened?

• Buildspec logs into ECR, builds the Docker image tagged with commit hash, and pushes to registry for ECS deployment.
• Follow the steps below — typing the code yourself is the fastest way to learn.

Practice next

1. Add buildspec.yml to repo root.
2. Create CodeBuild project pointing at buildspec.
3. Run build; check CloudWatch logs for errors.
4. Enable local Docker layer cache.
5. Add post_build phase with ecs update-service.

Remember

CodeBuild = managed CI runner. buildspec.yml defines phases. Push artifacts to S3 or ECR.
